EJPIC0236E when Installing Portal

If you try to install once, get an error and then try to install again in the same directory, you get this error:

EJPIC0236E: The WebSphere Application Server installation step failed.

You need to clean up first. If you have no other WebSphere installation:

• Remove the directory you were installing to.
• If no other WebSphere product installed, remove vpd.properties in the root home directory.
• In the IL-1 disc, enter linux/ia32/ifpackage/WAS/installRegistryUtils/bin and execute installRegistryUtils.sh -cleanAll.
